Speaker Bios

Jennifer Lindberg is a member attorney at BrownWinick with extensive experience in both state and federal courts, as well as state administrative agencies in Iowa and Illinois. Jennifer practices primarily in the area of litigation Prior to her current role, Jennifer served as an insurance regulator, gaining valuable insights into legal cases from a regulatory perspective. She graduated summa cum laude with a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law in 2011, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and received a certificate in Intellectual Property: Art and Museum Law. Jennifer's legal career includes roles as a Health Insurance Compliance Officer at the Iowa Insurance Division and as an associate attorney at Kanaris, Stubenvoll & Heiss, P.C. in Chicago. She is admitted to practice law in Iowa and Illinois, and is affiliated with various professional associations including the Iowa Legal Aid Foundation and the American Health Law Association.

Casey Alesch, an associate attorney at BrownWinick, practices in litigation, health care, and employment and labor law, actively contributing to the firm’s Health Care and Labor and Employment practice groups. Casey is dedicated to understanding her clients' business challenges and aims to serve as a trusted advisor by offering practical, results-oriented guidance. She stays abreast of industry developments, particularly in Health Care, Labor and Employment, and Medical Malpractice, ensuring clients receive informed representation. Casey's client-centered approach involves listening to client goals, analyzing legal issues, and collaboratively devising efficient solutions.

Michael Steinberg is the director of business development for Senior Planning Solutions. He leads the strategic marketing and development team, while overseeing client relations, sales analytics, and marketing implementation. He has helped grow SPS exponentially over the past decade and continues to aid SPS in helping individuals experience peace of mind in more states and new facilities.

Jim Wilkes is the Vice President of Brighton Consulting Group, a company that delivers professional and technical reimbursement consulting services to skilled nursing & rehabilitation and long-term care providers in Iowa. Jim has more than 30 years’ experience managing and consulting skilled nursing facilities on all aspects of financial and human resource record keeping.  He has led more than 60 Iowa nursing facilities through the Medicare certification, claims, and cost report cycles since 1995 and provides valuable leadership to independently controlled organizations across Iowa.

Londa Hartsook joined the health care group at CliftonLarsonAllen in November 2020. Prior to CLA, she worked eight years for a senior living organization that operates continuing care retirement communities, home health, and hospice where she held the titles of accounting manager, reimbursement manager, and director of reimbursement.

Amanda Elliott has been part of the Brighton Consulting Group team since 2007. She specializes in the staffing data collection and input to the PBJ reporting system and currently supervises the submission for more than 75 nursing facilities. She has developed and implemented analytical reporting tools to assist providers in analyzing their information before and after upload and frequently responds to CMS audit requests.  In addition, Amanda regularly presents information to providers and other stakeholders to educate and improve their reporting cycles while integrating efficiencies for submission.

Maggie Hanson is a Shareholder with Dentons Davis Brown and focuses on employment litigation, employment practices liability insurance defense, and providing day-to-day and strategic advice to employers. She advises and defends employers, managers, and HR professionals on issues relating to discrimination/harassment, civil rights claims, FMLA, Drug Testing, wrongful termination, retaliation, non-compete agreements, ADA compliance and reasonable accommodations, and much more.

Kacy Flaherty-Tarpey is a litigation lawyer defending Iowa employers in court and before administrative agencies like Iowa Workforce Development and the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, as well as counseling clients on how to minimize their risk before and during litigation.
